Art Journaling is a way to express your thoughts, memories, and emotions visually by combining words, colors, and images onto pages of a journal, diary, or altered book. Connect with yourself and others while engaging in this fun, intuitive, free-form art making process, guided by prompts that can inspire direction for filling blank pages.
This FREE virtual art group offered by Amaryllis Counseling is led by art therapist, Courtney Chandler, MA, ATR-P, E-RYT, CACI. No formal art experience necessary, the only requirement is to show up for yourself with an open-mind and willingness to tap into your creativity and vulnerability.
Art material suggestions:
—A journal, sketchbook, or a hardcover textbook or novel that you won’t mind altering into an art journal
—Drawing materials: crayons, markers, colored pencils… Anything that can make a colorful mark
—Painting materials: watercolor, acrylic, gouache, house paint, food coloring… Really any liquid pigment will do!
—Collage materials: magazines, scissors, glue
—Stencils, stickers, feathers, buttons, or other fun embellishments
—Mementos: greeting cards, pictures of family/friends/pets
